BE NICE TO EACH OTHER

BE NICE TO EACH OTHER

At the dinner table this Thanksgiving Day, be nice to each other.  Engage your five senses to bless everyone.

SIGHT

See that family member as unique and different.  Treat that difference with respect. What you have seen as awkward and embarrassing in that family member is not enough to ruin the joy of Thanksgiving at the dinner table. See the beauty of your family, the food, and your environment.

HEARING

Hear good things in what others have to say.  Listen to understand, not just to respond.

TOUCH

Touch your family members with love.  Those hugs are medicinal and therapeutic. You are all looking forward to this dinner.  Maximize the time by making this time memorable. Forgive each other.

SMELL

Smell the food.  Let it bring joy to your soul. Appreciate everyone’s sacrifice in bringing delicious food to the table.  Enjoy the aroma.

TASTE

The food is part of the day. Let your taste buds enjoy the food. Compliment everyone.  Let the family gathering be memorable.  Please do not ruin it by bringing up politics and arguments.  Please celebrate.

In summary, give thanks to the LORD for everything.  The Bible says, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thes. 5:18
